Quiz privacy policy

Last updated

The Art of Charm, Inc. operates the Influence Index quiz and its related result and newsletter emails. This notice covers those services on join.theartofcharm.com. Our main website privacy policy describes other Art of Charm services.

What we collect

Use your own email address. Please do not send government identifiers, payment details or sensitive personal information in quiz or support messages.

Why we use it and who receives it

We use this information to save progress, calculate and display your result, validate your email, provide requested result communications, recommend relevant resources, deliver newsletters you subscribe to, respond to requests, measure the quiz and prevent misuse. Your answers determine your score and recommendations.

Our service providers process information to perform these tasks. They include Cloudflare for private quiz storage and request handling, Vercel for website hosting, email-validation providers, Postmark for email delivery, PostHog for limited quiz analytics, and our contact-management and receipt systems. Authorized personnel may access information to operate the service or help you.

We may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to investigate abuse, respond to a security incident or protect people's rights. Visiting a linked checkout or another website brings that service's own privacy terms into effect.

Your score and your email subscription

The professional quiz's result form requires you to actively select the disclosed subscription checkbox before submitting. It subscribes you to daily practical tips and program offers from The Art of Charm. The box starts unchecked. Other quiz forms may offer an optional subscription; follow the disclosure on the form you use. Result-related emails and recurring marketing emails serve different purposes.

You can unsubscribe from marketing using the link in an email or by contacting support. Unsubscribing does not remove your saved quiz record or prevent a necessary response to a support request. We retain records of opt-outs and suppressions so a later import or repeat submission does not silently reverse them.

Cookies, browser storage and analytics

Private session cookies and browser storage let you resume your quiz and access your result. Clearing or blocking them can interrupt that access. Treat your saved result link as private: anyone with its access credential may be able to read your report.

We also send limited quiz events to PostHog, including a quiz session identifier, quiz version, progress and consent or submission status. That event payload excludes your name, email, answer text and private report credential. The quiz event sender does not set analytics cookies. Newsletter consent does not itself grant permission for unrelated advertising cookies.

Your browser can clear or block cookies and stored site data. This does not erase server records or unsubscribe your email. Other Art of Charm pages may use different tracking, described in the main website policy.

Storage, retention and security

Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Applicable protections and transfer requirements depend on your location and the processing involved.

We keep quiz, delivery and consent records for service operation, support, security and applicable legal obligations. Retention depends on the record's purpose; unsubscribing does not automatically delete it. Ask support about access or deletion. Some information, including suppression records, may need to be retained to honor your choices or meet legal requirements.

We use private storage and restricted result access. No internet service can guarantee complete security.

Your privacy rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or a portable copy of your information, object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent for future marketing. Some U.S. state laws also provide rights concerning sale, sharing or targeted advertising and appeals of denied requests. Contact us to exercise any applicable right; we may need to verify your identity or an authorized agent's authority.

If European data-protection law applies, the purpose of processing determines its legal basis, such as providing a requested service, consent to marketing, or legitimate interests in security and service operation. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already lawfully completed.
